AAUP Contract Bargaining Update November 12, 2025 |
|
|
The unions met with the administration today, November 12. Learn about the details by watching this brief update from your St. John's AAUP President Fred Cocozzelli. Today, the unions moved a number of substantive proposals across the table, countering the administration's offer of 3% raises for full-time and part-time faculty. In addition, we proposed a new model of health care payments that would move us from a complex and unpredictable system for determining full-time faculty health care premiums year-to-year to a simpler and more predictable system that also accounts for mistakes made in past calculations of our premiums. In addition, we proposed new structures for contract faculty positions and course materials. Finally, we proposed an initiative that brings back to the table a model for awarding faculty labor that falls outside of contractual responsibilities, such as advising dissertations and teaching independent studies. Faculty efforts to keep up the pressure on the administration are making a real difference at the table. Administrators should have counter-offers when we bargain again next week on November 19. Make sure they hear your voice as they consider how to respond. The faculty united will not be divided! In solidarity, Your St. John's AAUP Chapter |
